I know what you’re thinking, “what the hey is a mytheme?”
I am thrilled you asked. A mytheme is a myth that recurs across many cultures.
In many of the Turtle myths, the story goes that our world sits atop a turtle’s back, and by extension atop many more turtles, and in some cases atop elephants then turtles, such as in Hinduism, and in some versions there are numerous turtles in a pyramid that goes all the way down to the mystery. (Hence my mention in terms of Energy Awareness: turtles allow themselves to carry and to be carried.)
The Buddhists, and many Native American tribes also subscribe to this configuration, and some even call North America, Turtle Island.
Speaking of slow and steady winning the race, I helped rescue a turtle this past weekend.
The turtle’s stress was clear, and their strength too. As the rescue occurred I was inspired by three things. One: my niece loves turtles and had just just graduated from High School.
Two: a friend has six turtle pets, a bale, sheltered under a straw fort in her garden within the Cider district of Austria. She pets them right under their chins with easy affection.
Three: the other person helping rescue the turtle did so with conviction and humor. It was a way cool way to meet someone and to help a fellow earthling.
Inspiration is a wondrous contagion I tell you!
Thank goodness we have the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to protect certain turtle species and then some. And, the ESA may be limited by this current US administration. Please do your research and if you are so moved let everyone you know, know how you feel. Talking to each other helps. Contact heals.
"When the women sing, the giant turtles come up to the surface and listen.”

Anything surprise you this past weekend? Blow back your hair? Bring you to nonstop giggles? Arouse a thought you’ve never thought before?
Welcome to Uranus in the Heart of the Sun, also known as a Cazimi.
Yes, on May 17th/ 18th and vibe~wise somewhat prior and after, Uranus was ever aligned with our Sun.
No biggie as this occurs annually, but this one was a bit of a biggie, given the overall atmosphere of the solar system and all the action near~ish to Uranus semisextile and conjunction wise, e.g. Neptune at the beginning of the Zodiac, along with Venus, Chiron and Eris with Saturn and Ceres close by, and Mercury ever aligned with our Sun and Uranus himself.
Oh my!!!
Think: a gathering in the part of the ecliptic that features: Aires, Taurus and Gemini.
Sure, Mars is hanging in Leo and still somewhat opposed to Pluto in Aquarius (see addendum for more intel.)
And across the solar system, Libra and Scorpio host the dwarf planets, Makemake and Haumea respectively.
Meanwhile, our Sun headed into Gemini at 2:55pm EDT on May 20th, where there be Sedna, the dwarf planet of Arctic Mermaid~ness.
Uranus breaks the sign barrier into Gemini in a few weeks. Psssst, he’s been dancing in Taurus since 2018!
And yes, you know this already but here it is again for emphasis, Saturn enters Aires at 0° on May 24th/25th, where there be Neptune. How might we navigate this conjunction ~ new in our lifetime?
Moreover, the day after Mercury sachays into Gemini a New Moon occurs in the first degrees of Gemini.
Jupiter flies in late Gemini and we already discussed Uranus, and, and, and…
In sum, aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!
When planets and celestial bodies are within 8 to 10° of the same degree point it is known as a conjunction and can exaggerate the energies of either planet and their union with each other.
In sum, all may combine and amplify.
Here’s a flashback, and lucky for some of you, no paywall this week!
In Roman myth:
Saturn, rules the universe, agriculture, time and wealth. He fathered Neptune, who rules the sea. Aires, god of war; spirit of battle, associates with the red planet Mars.
Positive qualities abound, but can marry with low vibe qualities.
May we allow astrological events to intertwine with our ability to mock-up our reality.
May we radiate goodness within our choices.
Neptune suggests psychic strength, a caring heart, seeing the world in the best possible light. Dreams and the subconscious mind are part of Neptune’s realms.
The planet, Neptune, is the 8th from our Sun; an icy big guy with powerful winds, and a gravitational pull similar to Earth’s, complete with an atmosphere unlike others.
16 moons orbit Neptune.
Saturn energy can stimulate realism, focus, determination, structure and authoritarian leadership. Obstacles, patience and character~building experiences are part of his wheelhouse. In Vedic astrology, karma is an aspect of Saturn.
The planet, Saturn is chiefly hydrogen and helium. He features a ring system; dust and chunks of ice spiraling from his equator in individual ringlets.
Saturn has a thick atmosphere and less density than water ~ he could float on a Saturn~sized ocean.
Saturn has many moons, 274 confirmed as well as additional moonlets!
Aires represents the first house, the essence of self or “I am,” energy in astrology.
As a sign he brings forth drive, courage, enthusiasm, aggression, honesty, impatience, confidence and more.
This palette of qualities combine during this second half of May.
Try to be intentional, go lightly, extend to others around you, laugh.
Themes and Variations…
…may look like:
particle shifting to wave, solid morphing to liquid.
Recall the scene in The Wizard of Oz when water is thrown on the Wicked Witch of the West and she melts. She is transformed and there’s room for something new to arise.
Because Aires represents the self, the melting and reorganizing is akin to the caterpillar in the chrysalis becoming a butterfly.
We too may change from the inside to the outside. Geopolitically and beyond this is also occurring. Changes abound plenty. A search for a new order has ensued in some ways, even as we protest the way the old order is being razed to the ground.
All of the above may not be easy. Saturn is in his fall in Aires, which can be a disadvantage, and Aires’ battlefield resonance can create conflict and chaos in turns. Meanwhile, Neptune’s glorious in terms of spirit, but the delusional aspects can lead us down dark roads.
P.S, The Astronomical~Astrological Star Wheel Happenings ~
If you get a clear night, have a peak at Saturn to the east before sunrise, and Venus close to the same horizon before dawn and a little bit afterwards. All will be glorious.
And, maybe you’ve noticed Jupiter (just after sunset) and Mars (til just after midnight) to the west? .
P.S.S. One of the Other Big Things: Neptune has entered Aires ~
On Sunday, March 30th, Neptune crossed the sign barrier into Aires for the first time since April 13, 1861. Come the 4th of July, Neptune will begin a retrograde and make it all the way back to 29°22’ of Pisces before he starts towards Aires again, and directly on Dec. 10th. Neptune eventually returns to Aires on/ or about Jan. 27, 2026, then stays until 2038, which spills into 2039 after a retrograde motion period.
Upcoming Calendar ~
(as you recall, all times given are EDT/GMT-5:)
I focus on our Moon as she pulls on our emotions, like she pulls on Earth’s tides. When she is in-between signs think of it as a chance to dream.
When she’s in~between, a.k.a. "void-of-course” we might feel ungrounded. Accident potential increases. Please give yourself a nice breath, and I will do the same.

Astro data from Llewellyn’s 2025 Astrological Daily Ephemeris & Aspectarian
Aspects in Focus
Conjunction (0°) *A conjunction signifies two forces coming together in unison
Semisextile (30°) *A subtle energy, potential growing pains, helps us see nuance
Sextile (60°) *facilitates opportunities, positive changes, less intense than a trine
Square (90°) *personal growth ensues because we confront weakness and limits
Trine (120°) *a favorable aspect indicating ease, natural, harmony & equilibrium
Quincunx (150°) *spotlights areas in which elements do not easily come together
Opposition (180°) *highlights duality, encourages balance between opposing forces
Addendum re: energies we may still be feeling:
Did you feel the Mars~Pluto Opposition on April 26th?
That was when Mars at 3+° of Leo and Pluto at 3+° of Aquarius formed their third exact opposition in less than 6 months on April 26, 2025 at 9:05pm. The most recent exact Mars~Pluto oppositions happened on November 3, 2024, with Mars at 29° of Cancer and Pluto at 29° Capricorn, and on January 2, 2025, with Mars at 1° of Leo, and Pluto at 1° of Aquarius.
Any opposition, such as a Full Moon when our Moon opposes our Sun on May 12th tends to intensify the field of energy.
Pluto is the great transformer; Mars the great driver ~ the peaceful warrior or the maleficent warrior, depending on the dynamics and free will. Giant stuff can occur in the environs of this opposition: catharsis, power dynamics…
On April 26th the U.S. the executive branch of the government pushed against the judiciary branch aggressively, and the Mars~Pluto opposition happened within 96 hours of the first 100 days of the current U.S. administration, which has been rife with shenanigans.
All seem to light up the total solar eclipse energy from April 8, 2024, which happened to fall across the Americas from N.E. to S.W. Washington D.C. may have received a zap from the powers that be.
